I am reading a few things for Lent today in one of them was the reading from Luke 6 47-49
47 I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. 48 It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built. 49 But anyone who hears and doesn’t obey is like a person who builds a house without a foundation. When the floods sweep down against that house, it will collapse into a heap of ruins.”
It made me think where is your life’s foundation?
Is it Firm or Soft?
Soft foundations are those that do not stand up to the really bad storms of life. Those life changing events.
Can the latest tech help when your house floods?
Can shopping help when someone you love dies?
Does money help when you feel abandoned by all?
So what is a firm foundation?
It is something that will help you no matter the cost, always be there, never fails you.
Jesus can be that foundation if you ask Him to be.
The bible shows that God never gives up, never fails His people and can deal with anything thrown at you.
This Lent find time to Ask Jesus to be your rock.
Ask forgiveness of your life to date and ask Him into it.
Then build a new life on that strong rock and let His Spirit bring new new life.
