Review of ‘1356’

I read this book on my new Tablet via NOOK, It is the last in a series of which I have only read the first one [Harlequin (The Grail Quest,]
I really enjoyed this book, fast paced with multiple story lines, the hero is not like Sharp at all a much more uncertain person with a drive to do good in a difficult world.
This book follows Thomas as he finishes a contract to take a castle and then the interactions as things do not go quite to plan. Then he has to go and help his liege Lord and ends up at Poitier for the big battle in 1356, part of the hundred years war. The battle scenes are well done as are the smaller fights. History and fiction mixed together in a good package.
Will have to get the rest to read on my tablet.
