The Power of Prayer

James 5

The Power of Prayer

13 Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises. 14 Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven.

16 Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

Before I came to faith it always seemed to me that prayer was just there to make you feel like you were doing something. Since comming to follow Jesus I know it is about communication with the living God. God wants the best for His people, read the bible and see all of what he did for them even when they forget Him. We are His people and he wants the best for us, if we do not talk to Him of what is on our hearts how will He know we really care. Care for those around us for family and freinds, for those that hate us and persicute us.  What our needs are and that we are sorry for getting life wrong.

If you think prayer is pointless try it, confess to God in Jesus name your failures and ask for help for others and then yourselfe, if possible get a person who is already a christian to join you, Jesus said ‘where 2 or 3 are gathered there I am’.

  1. Psalm 9
    1 I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;
    I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.
    2 I will be filled with joy because of you.
    I will sing praises to your name, O Most High.
