Review of the The Caspian Gates and Wolves of the North ‘Warrior of Rome’ books by H Sidebottom

These are books four and five of this ongoing serries of books about Ballista a soldier hostage and envoy of Rome. You can see my review of the first three books here.

These are enjoyable books although I found the stories rather limp just more of the same so I doubt I will read any more. They are well writen and do allow you a insight into the culture and times but the stories do need to be a bit more varied after five books of Ballista being send to a trouble spot, being put in danger, meeting old enemies and then winning through just to do it again gets a bit booring.

I can recomend the first books but not these two.
