Review of ‘A Scandalous History of the Roman Emperors’

A Scandalous History of the Roman Emperors by A Blond

This is a odd book its title suggests much more than the book delivers. it implies that we are going to get scandal, but in general it is mild and even attempts to convince you that the Romans were not that bad. There were many areas I would have pulled this book up upon but I stopped reading once I got to the part on Boadicea and the chariots with scythes on the wheels. This is pure Victorian make believe, the Britons did not use  blades on there chariots and no historian would say they did.

In general although there is some good parts to this book it repeats old myths even though it is a newish book, also it doesn’t really deliver on its title either. Not worth the reading.
